Life-Long Pet Insurance… ?? your opinion please – Urgent – thnx?
I am looking for LIFE LONG, Full Cover Pet Insurance for my dog. She is 4 months old. I need some help deciding which one to choose….. does anyone have suggestions???
1. Petplan – seem like a good choice
2. Petprotect – do not know alot about them.
3. PetPals – ??
4. RSPCA – Lifelong???? not sure if they offer it???
pet plan, you are very wise to insure your dog, it cost me a fortune, because i did not insure my little dog, he got very sick, and the vets fees were very expensive. sadly she died two years ago.

I have to make out a marketing and promotion for pet Insurance and these questions are hard to find answers for.
Any links at all really. . . Although obviously I know the basics, I’ve been pushing good insurance on owners for years in my clinic; but although it may be easy to do, it’s hard to write about.
This Assignment I have is a real doozie. (2nd year B.Sc Veterinary Nursing Student)
Pet insurance benefits a practice in the following ways:
1. It provides another revenue stream
2. It reassures the pet owner that you are looking out for his/her welfare, as well as for the health and well being of his/her pet.
3. It is a competitive step forward, since not many veterinarians offer it — it sets your practice apart
4. It allows you to ride on the marketing coattails of the insurance company — any local advertising, promotion and marketing — especially direct marketing — will mention the name of your practice. (The insurance company may pick up the entire cost of this advertising, or you may be asked to pay part of the cost — it is well worth it.)
5. The insurance company should give you referrals from enquiries in your district — that is, pet owners who communicate directly with the insurance company should be referred to you as their local representative, and pet owners who contact the insurance company solely about insurance should be told about your veterinary practice. (”By the way, Brian Boru Small Animal Practice of Bailey-Cream o’ The Reeks is a professional practitioner down the road you should be aware of, should you require their services — especially since they honour our insurance.” or words to that effect.)
6. Any incidental projects you put into your practice publicise and promote your practice tenfold. These include:
a) insurance of course
b) local workshops and seminars before schools, church groups, community organisations
c) newsletters –on line and printed and distributed FREE — on a regular basis
d) pro bono work for pet owners who can’t afford it (some sort of a means test here, so you won’t be taken advantage of) — perhaps exclusively for the very old or disabled. Specialise, say, in service animals, working with local orgs. for the blind, hard-of-hearing, etc.
e) brochures and handouts distributed in your surgery– not only materials that you receive on a regular basis from large manufacturers, etc., but little brochures you write on your own on local problems, say incidence of ticks and the like
f) offer to write a column for the local press
g) give talks at the library. This is very popular.
h) write a book or two. Not necessarily James Herriot stuff (although that would be nice), but little heart-warming stories, with you as the hero, of course. The book could be online.
i) set up and maintain a) website, b) a blog — and keep it fresh and up to date
j) contribute to other local websites, not necessarily having anything to do with animals: church, library, community, even real estate, agriculture, historical and cultural. Become de facto the local authority on matters veterinary!

It is proven with enough witness that pets are the lovely domestic animals which folks like to keep in their homes. All the time we cannot rely upon the debit card. In case if it runs out of money then what we will do. And it will be a stupidity to just stay helpless when the most charming pet is crying out of pain. It is a piece of advice to all the families which keep pets in their homes that it is essential to have pet insurance cards so that they can meet the escalating prices of veterinary expenses.
One needs to consider a couple of points before picking up a pet insurance. One of those strong points is that all the insurance plans are not equivalently same. Moreover, one has to take the particular insurance plan which gives financial coverage. It happens that many folks take insurance plans and later on they realized that they couldn’t get much financial help. The worst is that they had to pay extra bucks from their plastic cards. In such a case one should raise the question: Why even after taking up a better insurance plan one had to pay the extra bucks? This genuine question is worth enough as a topic of hot debate.

I have Veterinary Pet Insurance. I’ve had it for 5 years. I have a Jack Russel Terrier. I pay $25.00 a month for full coverage (except for routine care). Unfortunately I’ve had to use it 3 times. Once for a pit bull attack on my dog. Her bill was 1300. I had the vet fill the form out (I took a copy of the claim form w/me), he signed it and they faxed it right to VPI from the vets office. I had to pay everything up front (put it on my credit card) and I got back 956.00 in two weeks. I has never taken more than two weeks for the claim checks to come. My monthly amount has never gone up. I get the money taken out of my account automatically. Sometimes I forget my dog has insurance.
Either PETA or HSUS has come out with pet insurance. I can’t remember which one. The last time I checked it wasn’t available in Florida yet. That was a year ago.

I have two dogs that need to get insured. They are young (one is 4 years old, the other is like 2-3 years old), but my concerns are their teeth. No only do they need to get cleaned, but they need to get fixed. I’m seeing cavities. The problem is the payment I need to give to the veterinarians. The one insurance I had said they only reimbursed payments. And I cannot afford to make these large sums of payments, and wait to get reimbursed. I need an insurance that pays like medical insurance does (with small co-pays.) Are there any pet insurance plans like that?
