Obtaining insurance quotes offline is a real drag. You can spend hours on the telephone repeating your details to life insurance or household insurance telesales operators in a bid to find the lowest quotes available. It is a time consuming process that requires persistence to keep on phoning insurance agent after insurance agent. You’re often in need of an understanding boss too who’ll let you use the work phone during your lunch hour!

But, in today’s high-tech era there is an easier and much more efficient way of obtaining contents insurance, buildings insurance, car insurance, pet insurance, life insurance and life assurance quotes. All you have to do is log on to the Internet and you’ll find a wealth of insurance resources that enable you to receive insurance quotes online at the click of your mouse button.

Online insurance quotes…the easy way!

The last few years has seen a massive increase in the number of businesses establishing an online presence. Amongst those who have taken to the Internet are insurance companies. There is now a flood of insurance companies online, from well-known high street car insurance names to small local life insurance brokers, all of whom are offering information about their insurance products over the Web.

What’s more, many of the insurance companies provide links to online quotes forms, making the process of obtaining insurance quotes fast and easy. Insurance companies can in fact hand you competitive quotes instantaneously upon receiving the online form. They can also direct you to the application form so you can apply for the insurance online within minutes.

The best places online to obtain insurance quotes are often not directly with the insurance companies themselves. Instead, those looking for online insurance quotes should head for specialist insurance web sites and portals where a collection of insurance companies can be found on one site. These ‘collective’ sites offer consumers several advantages.

Firstly, as there are several (if not hundreds) of insurance companies represented on these collective sites, it is much quicker to find the insurance companies from which to obtain your online insurance quotes than when compared to trawling around the Internet looking for each online insurance agents’ website. The second advantage to using these sites for collecting your online insurance quotes is that many portals allow you to collect instantaneous online insurance quotes through the use of just one single quotes form! So, instead of going to each insurance agent and re-keying the information needed to obtain your online quotes, you only have to enter the information once, saving you bags of time!

But what about price? Surely, if online insurance quotes are not obtained direct from the insurance (or assurance) agent’s website then they’ll be more expensive? In fact, the truth is that they won’t! Specialist portal sites handle all of the admin and advertising for each insurance agent represented so saving those insurance companies a packet. Therefore, if you go direct to the online insurance companies you are likely to receive the same online prices as you would through specialist portal sites.

Any ideas to attract local customers to use our shopping precinct rather than out of town big boy stores?

I have a childrens boutique in a small village type shopping precinct. There are many types of shops from butcher, baker, greengrocer, craft shop, locksmith, fresh fish, cafes, bookmakers, hairdressers, beauty salon, dry cleaners, shoe shop, photographic shop, pubs, charity shop, ladies fashion, hardware, pet shop, jewellers, clock repairer, dolls house shop, insurance broker, toy shop, chiropodist, newsagents, independant supermarket and co-op.

We are all getting together next week to discuss ways of improving customer footfall through our pedestranised precinct – rather than people using out of town stores. Also, ways of attracting people outside of the area. However, we have a low budget to spend. Any fresh ideas for me to take along to the meeting would be much appreciated.

Point to note – over the road – we also have post office, major banks, travel agents two top tourist attractions and a beach less than one mile away.

I’ll use bike stores as an example.
At a good bike shop, the bikes are much more expensive than at the box stores, but they are of MUCH higher quality. You will also likely find many services complementing your purchase, as well, such as bike fitting (muy importante), riding advice, and a real mechanic onsite.
This sort of service keeps the bike shops alive, when it’s easy enough to ’save’ money on a crap-mart bike that’ll end up gathering dust in the garage.

There’ll be plenty of added-value services you can imagine for any sort of business. It’s just a matter of developing them to the extent that people will be attracted to the stores, and advertising, then charging a fair price instead of greedily going for the ’boutique’ prices on everything.

Pet Insurance Companies

Pet Insurance Companies
Looking at Pet Insurance has anyone dealt with these two companies?? Which one is better?

I am looking at getting pet insurance, 1 dog, 3 cats. I have two companies I am looking at Pets Best and ASPCA Pet Insurance. Wondered if anyone has dealt with them and which one do you like better and why?

Hi Hydee

First of all, a disclaimer: I work for Embrace Pet Insurance in Cleveland, Ohio.

It’s great that you’re looking into pet insurance, it’s the right thing to do and responsible pet parents have a wide range of plans to choose from.

Before you decide which plan I recommend you visit http://www.PetInsuranceReview.com (I am not affiliated with this site). Pet Insurance Review has gathered lots of customer testimonials for every major pet insurance plan in the US and you can see firsthand what pet parents like you say about the different plans. Some of the ratings for some companies will surprise you.

When it comes to choosing one pet insurance plan over another, there are really no absolutes. But the big “if” is this: Do you know what you are getting? Some companies do not do a good job of telling you what you’re buying and, after you make a claim, you may be in for a shock. Transparency and being upfront are critical when buying insurance because insurance is a “promise to pay” – can you trust that promise?

Good luck with your research.

Affordable Pet Insurance

Affordable Pet Insurance
Need help finding quality low cost pet insurance?

I’m trying to find an affordable insurance for my dog. She seems to get sick a lot and getting insurance is a better option than having to pay these huge vet bills! Does anyone currently have pet insurance? Is there any company’s you would suggest? Any particular policy just for sickly dogs that won’t cost an arm and a leg?

I stopped in my vet’s office to pick up an Rx and noticed a paper on the counter listing all of the pet insurance carriers that they will accept. I am in the process of also researching the best policy for my pets.

The main question to ask yourself is if it is really worth it in the long run. Far too many people put a price tag on their pet and when the vet bills start piling up, they consider euthanasia, a cheaper alternative.

However, if you are the type of pet owner who will willingly go into debt to save its life, then pet insurance might be the answer!

I can not recommend one particular insurance company. It is best to research and find the one that meets your pet’s specific needs. Some companies cover pre-existing conditions and hereditary diseases (such as hip displasia) while others will not.

galtech.com reports the following review:

VPI Pet Insurance – they offer a number of different priced options; their VPI Superior Plan ($50 ded. per incident, max. annual benefit of $14K, pays 90% of cost) for a 3 year old Huskie was about $30 bucks a month. They offer free online quick quotes for pet insurance premium estimates. Things covered: Accidents and Illnesses, MRI, CAT Scans and X-Rays, Surgeries, Cancer Treatments, Prescription Medication, Hospitialization, Vaccinations, Heartworm Protection, Annual Exam, Prescription Flea Control, Spay & Neuter.

Pets Health Plan.com – their pet insurance policies pay 80% of all allowable vet expenses and medications, with no per incident deductible ($100 per year flat deductible). They have the same policy for filiing claims and reimbursements.

Petsurance.com – full insurance coverage for cats and dogs, including a senior care plan for older pets. They also offer free online pet insurance quotes. From their website: “We provide the best value possible for your insurance dollar. Routine care (e.g. vaccinations, parasite prevention) is a budgetable expense. When this budgeting is done through a pet insurance policy, the cost to the owner is greater than if he/she would have paid for this expense directly. ”

Petco.com – Petco has partnered with Pet Care Pet Insurance and offer full lines of insurance beginning at less than $10/mo.

PetPlan.com – the worlds largest provider of pet insurance, PetPlan’s PetMedic plans provide coverage for the most common accidents (removing swallowed objects, hit by car, allergic reactions to bug bites, fights with other animals, fall, etc.)

Pet insurance is not for eveyone, but if you are concerned about the rising costs of pet care and veterinarian bills and pet medications, do a little research into a policy, see what it costs, and compare it to what you spent out of pocket last year on your pet – see if it doesn’t make sense to switch to a pet insurance policy.

Embrace Pet Insurance offers a comparison guide on its website so that you are able to check off which services would be best suited to your needs.

Good Luck!
